On April 30th and May 1st, 2014, the NCCHPP participated in the learning event Health for all: Putting Equity into practice. Leadership, Advocacy and Collective Action in the Maritimes. This event was organized by the Public Health Association of NB-PEI and the Public Health Association of NS in collaboration with other partners, including the NCCHPP, the NCCDH and the NCCMT. It was held in Moncton, NB.

On Wednesday April 30, Julie Castonguay and Louise St-Pierre led a half-day workshop on health impact assessment with a focus on health equity.

This workshop was intended for public health practitioners who are looking to influence the development healthy public policies while taking health equity into account. The goal was to enable participants to become familiar with the fundamentals of HIA, its standard steps, and its tools. Practical exercises and group discussions complemented the key messages delivered in the presentations.

The conference was held in English, but all visual media and materials were available in French and English.
