The NCCHPP participated in the Journées annuelles de santé publique (JASP – Québec’s Annual Public Health Days), held in Montréal from November 21 to 22, 2016.

On November 22, Louise St-Pierre offered a presentation entitled Foundations of HIA: Looking Back on Over 15 Years of Practice.

This presentation was part of the JASP Ideas Laboratory entitled Health Impact Assessment, A Vector for Collaboration Between the Municipal Sector and Public Health.

Based on experiences with recently completed HIAs in Quebec, this ideas laboratory allowed participants to explore how and under what conditions HIA can become an optimal vector for collaboration between public health and municipal sectors. The material presented during the day focused on how HIA contributes to the renewal of the offering of public health services, as proposed by the Programme national de santé publique (National Public Health Program) 2015-2025 and the new Governmental Policy for Prevention in Health.
