At the NCCPH Summer Institute held in Baddeck, N.S. in August 2007, Philip Davies presented a keynote address on knowledge management in public health.

In this presentation, Dr. Philip Davies discusses what knowledge is, distinguishing the knowing-that of explicit knowledge and the knowing-how of experiential knowledge. He also considers the differences between evidence, data and experience and relates these to action in the policy sector, particularly from the perspective of ensuring that people have the knowledge they need at the right time.
