"KSTE in Action" : the NCCHPP presentations at the 2008 annual Summer Institute of the National Collaborating Centres for Public Health (NCCs)

The National Collaborating Centres' third annual Summer Institute was held from August 5 to 8, 2008, in Kelowna, British Columbia. This year’s conference focused on research, education, implementation, and evaluation within the emerging science of knowledge synthesis, translation and exchange (KSTE). »»

Pilot project: Three deliberative dialogues on obesity in March 2008

The NCCHPP gathered different stakeholders in the fight against obesity for a series of deliberative processes to discuss three promising policy instruments in the Canadian context. »»

Toronto workshop on Health Impact Assessment

To benefit from the presence of Dr. Sarah Curtis in Canada, two information seminars on the practice of HIA were organized by the Centre. Dr. Curtis, professor of urban geography at the University of Durham (England), is an expert in health impact assessment and a member of the Advisory Board of the Centre. »»

Meeting of Not for Profit Organizations

On March 27-28, 2008, Montréal was the site of a final meeting of the project's six participating organizations with the NCCHPP in order to review, discuss and evaluate the year's work, and to make comments and suggestions to the NCCHPP for how future collaborative activities might be undertaken. »»

Two exchanges focusing on HIA kick off 2008 at the NCCHPP

The first of these meetings was held on February 7 with a South Korean delegation whose members were visiting to learn about HIA initiatives as they are being practiced in North America. The second meeting was held in Montréal on February 22, and reunited several experts in the HIA field to reflect on developments in this practice in Canada. »»
