In the Spotlight this Month - Launch of the online training course – A framework for analyzing public policies
.

It is now possible to register for this new online training course offered by the NCCHPP.

This course will enable participants to make use of a framework for analyzing public policies in order to inform policy makers in the context of healthy public policy development.

It is made of four self-paced modules presented on a user-friendly platform, allowing each participant to progress at his or her own pace.

Presentation – The Role of Health Impact Assessment (HIA) in Planning for Healthier Environments: Introduction to the decision-support model of HIA

On July 10, the Centre's Julie Castonguay will give a presentation in Fredericton NB in a session organized by the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) Healthy Communities subcommittee and Healthy Canada by Design, as part of the annual CIP conference. Together with colleagues from local and regional public health organizations, they will discuss how Health Impact Assessment can foster collaboration between public health and planners.

This briefing note is the second in a series of six focused on the state of the practice of integrated impact assessment (IIA).

This note describes how the practice of IIA has been institutionalized within the European Commission.  It presents its history, objectives, procedures and the tools used.  In addition, the evaluation of the practice is discussed. Particular attention is also focused on the manner in which impact assessments with a single focus were included in the integrated analysis.
