This document is part of a collection produced by the six National Collaborating Centres for Public Health to encourage mental health promotion for children and youth within a strong, integrated public health practice. The NCCHPP paper aims to clarify the relationships between healthy public policies (HPPs), mental health promotion and reducing inequalities in the mental health of children and youth.

It provides information and resources to support public health practitioners who want to create and influence public policies that support mental health.
